As both a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a separate For-profit LLC, Francis + Benedict exists to empower and equip skilled Togolese seamstresses by providing them with dignified and sustainable employment. In addition, our profits are used to resource community leaders in Togo, enabling them to continue project.
My clothing has always been colorful. Maybe it's my personality or maybe I just love bright colors? So when I was in Franklin, TN at a Homeschool Conference I met a friend named Kelly. She had on the most beautiful, long, and vibrantly colorful skirt. The second I saw it, I knew it was unique and had to know where it came from. She told me about this Fair Trade & Non-Profit company called Francis + Benedict who provides jobs for seamstresses in Togo Africa. I absolutely fell in love with their skirts, dresses, company, and mission.
African wax fabrics are truly unique. The colors are incredibly vibrant and the prints are one of a kind. You will most likely never see the same prints twice. Each skirt and/or dress is handcrafted with inventory limited. Once the size is gone in that print. It is gone! I learned that the hard way when I waited too long to order a skirt that I had my eye on for some time. The picture to the right shows me wearing a "mini skirt" in a size small.
As an advocate, it is my honor to help promote the sale of these beautiful skirts. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME that I wear my skirts, I receive an abundance of compliments. I do make a small commission off each sale, but most importantly, the sales support the working women of Togo, Africa. One of the poorest countries in the world.
